Preston Wedding

The bride was getting ready at her parents house in Preston. She was just having her breakfast when I arrived to photograph the bridal preparations. Present was her sole bridesmaid, her brothers, who were also usher and her parents. Last minute preparations were taking place, this allowed me to photograph all the little details and get really natural photographs.

The wedding was at Our Lady and St Edward Roman Catholic Church in Fulwood, Preston. I photographed the wedding guests arriving and the groom greeting them. I was there to photograph the bride arriving in the wedding car and got a lovely photo of the brides expression as she arrived at the church. Her father walked her down the aisle and gave her away. After the ceremony we did group photos in the church.

The wedding reception was at The Villa, Wrea Green near Kirkham, Lancashire. The bride and groom arrived to a great welcome by all the wedding guests. Before the meal we had time to do more staged photographs, as it was raining we did them inside. The venue had lovely fireplaces that made a nice background.

The wedding breakfast was held in a marquee that was attached to the hotel. I got some great photos of the speeches with some great natural photographs of the wedding guests reactions. I took a lot of photographs of the guests enjoying themselves, with them unaware I was photographing them.

The couple had two wedding cakes one was traditional and the other was a cheese  wedding cake.

I stayed to photograph the first dance.

Wedding photographer northwest

This year I have photographed many weddings in the north west. One of them being a wedding in Manchester, the ceremony was in a baptist church in central Manchester. I photographed the bride getting ready with her bridesmaids, the flower girl was very excited about the whole wedding day and was looking forward to dancing at the reception.

The groom had five best men who split the best man duties between them. The church had been decorated especially for the wedding and really helped to enhance the photos. The newly weds wanted a group photo of everyone who attended the wedding service so I got on the roof and gathered everyone together in front of the church for the photograph.

The reception was at the Lowry, Salford. It made a magnificent venue with a lot of great places for photographs. We did some fun shots with the best men and bride using pretending to do a tug of war using the groom as a rope. The venue gave stunning views of the new Media City on the Manchester  shipping canal.

"Si was everything you could want from a wedding photographer and great value for money.  He made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. We had all the photographs we wanted and some more creative ones that Si suggested and looked great. Lots of our friends and family commented on how professional and friendly he was and they were able to buy their own copies of the photographs on the website. My bridesmaid even booked him for her own wedding. The CD was great as we could then choose our own photographs for the wedding album.  Thank you Si!" Amy Parkinson

Preston Wedding Bartle Hall

I recently photographed a wedding at Bartle Hall in  Preston, Lancashire. The ceremony and reception were both held there. There was a harpist who played during the wedding ceremony and the drinks reception. The bridesmaids all wore blue with the groomsmen in charcoal grey morning suits with blue cravats. The wedding group photos were taken in the grounds and a whole group photograph was taken out of an upstairs window. I was there until the first dance and photographed many of the wedding guests enjoying themselves. The staff at Bartle Hall, Preston were very welcoming and very helpful to me and the newly weds.

Preston Guild 2012

Today I went along to Moor Park, Preston to photograph the floats for the community procession which is part of Preston Guild 2012. I took a few portraits of some serving fireman who had an old fashioned fire engine and a horse drawn fire pump. I did some more photography of other floats, that were made up of local schools and community groups and organisations.

"Preston Guild is an historic celebration, which dates back to 1179 - sharing a heritage of over 800 years. It is the only Guild still celebrated in the UK and, as such, is truly unique. Held only once every 20 years, the 2012 celebration will be the first Guild in the 21st century and the first since the granting of Preston’s city status in 2002.

The Guild has a long history and has evolved considerably over the centuries - playing an important role in the developemnt of Preston as a thriving Lancashire city. However, the one thing that has always remained the central focus is people -the people who plan it, participate in it, promote it and the people who tell their stories of the Guild to children and grandchildren.

Residents, visitors, artists, businesses, athletes and performers – everyone gets involved in Preston Guild!"
